Join us in the arts destination city of Austin, Texas for an exciting learning event in October, 2017.

Co-sponsored by the Creative Arts Society and The Arts Business Institute, the first Austin Art Business Summit will take place on the weekend of October 21-22, 2017 at Soma Vida, 2324 East Cesar Chavez Street in Austin, Texas. A reception will be held on Friday, October 20th at the same location, and guest speaker Michael Abedin, editor of Austin All Natural Magazine, will deliver the keynote welcome speech.

During the weekend program, presentations will be made on business topics of interest to visual artists and makers. The schedule includes the following talks:

  • Creative Marketing Strategies
  • Pricing for Profit
  • Wholesaling
  • The Corporate Art Market
  • Making Work that Sells
  • Introduction to Art Licensing
  • Sales Strategies for Artists
  • How to Sell Your Work Online

A special lunch presentation on Saturday titled “What You Need to Know About Fine Art Printing” will be delivered by guest speaker Neil Ganucheau, the CEO of Skyline Art Printing. Sunday’s schedule includes an expert panel discussion. Lunch will be served both days, and is included as part of the registration price.

Other speakers for this event are Wendy Rosen, Founder of The Arts Business Institute, NICHE Magazine and Best in American Made, and Carolyn Edlund, ABI Executive Director and Founder of ArtsyShark.com.

Individual consultation appointments with Rosen and Edlund will be available on a limited first-come, first-serve basis. These should be booked at the time of registration, as appointments generally sell out before workshop events. Consultations are conducted at the end of each day of the summit.

Early bird registration is now available at $245, which is a $50 savings over the regular tuition price. The deadline to receive this special discounted tuition price is July 31, 2017.
