It’s coming up in only a few weeks. ABI’s annual winter workshop gets artists ready to launch and grow their small businesses. Register now.
Our biggest workshop of the year! This intensive learning event takes place at the downtown Convention Center in Washington, DC on January 17-18, 2015 in conjunction with the American Made Show, which is the largest wholesale marketplace for handmade goods in the United States. Registration is still open for artists and craftspeople interested in becoming entrepreneurs or increasing their exposure and sales.
Highlights of this workshop include:
– Presentations on Wholesaling, Pricing, Creative Marketing, Sales Strategies, Art in the Corporate Marketplace, Copyright Protection, Gallery Relationships and Your Artist Website, plus an artist panel and Q&A with the director of the American Made Show.
– A self-tour of the American Made Show (open to the trade only). See the incredible booth displays, the quality and type of work sold, and meet the artists who are exhibiting.
– NICHE Awards reception and ceremony. This prestigious award recognizes the best in American fine craft, in both professional and student categories.
– Buyer critique. Workshop attendees display their own work in a special exhibit room. Gallery owners and retail store buyers attending the show will evaluate your work and provide written feedback. Is your collection ready to go? Are you priced correctly? What markets would be most appropriate for your work? ABI students get valuable information on developing their own lines, and approaching the marketplace.
