The Cattaraugus County Arts Council and The Arts Business Institute announce two spring workshop events.
Two one-day art business “bootcamps” will be presented in Olean, New York and Jamestown, New York this April. Sponsored by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council, each includes four presentations on Pricing, Creative Marketing, Building an Art Website and Selling Into Different Markets. Speakers will be ABI Founder Wendy Rosen and Executive Director Carolyn Edlund.
Cattaraugus County Arts Council is an active organization “transforming the quality of life quality of life in the Southern Tier of New York State through education, service and community outreach,” says Executive Director Tina Hastings. She explains, “We actively work with students in our community art and pottery studio, regional artists and community organizations to achieve our mission. Every class we teach, every child who paints, every grant we administer, every event we promote, every artist we support, every tourist we draw, every festival we organize, is for the purpose of making this beautiful place we live an even better place.”
These workshop events are part of their effort to bring professional development to artists in the region. The Arts Council chose to partner with ABI to create a robust program that is appropriate for fine artists as well as craft artists who want to take their small businesses to a higher level.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the Arts Business Institute to the Southern Tier and give artists the chance to gain valuable knowledge about how to enhance their art business through a variety of topics,” says Hastings. “I hope that by offering the conference in two locations we can benefit not only the artists in Cattaraugus county, but also the many artists that we work with in Allegany and Chautauqua counties. Of course, artists outside these areas are also welcome! My experience so far with ABI has been outstanding and I believe that artists are going to leave this conference with a wealth of knowledge!”
Tuition for each event is $65.00 and personal business consultations are available to be scheduled, but are very limited. Register early for these workshops.
