The Arts Business Institute will present two days of workshop training to artists and artisans in Barbados this May.
Sponsored by Barbados Cultural Industries Development Authority (BCIDA), the Symposium will run from May 5-8, 2016 and encompass programming for cultural businesses ranging from fashion and apparel to music, film and the visual arts. This four day event will take place at the Hilton Barbados in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Arts Business Institute Founder Wendy Rosen and Executive Director Carolyn Edlund will present an intensive program titled “Getting Visual Arts & Craft Market Ready”on Saturday, May 7th and Sunday, May 8th. Lectures will include core curriculum for designing a collection which is saleable, pricing it profitably, professionally presentation, marketing and sales, geared especially for creative entrepreneurs.
The talks will address the specific and unique challenges and needs of artists and artisans on Barbados, emphasizing best practices and outlining a pathway to market to sell their work effectively on the island as well as to an international audience.
Personalized consultation appointments with Rosen and Edlund will be available to attendees at the end of each workshop day, to review the artisan’s work and discuss individual goals and business planning.
