ABI Wash DC 2016 workshop

The Arts Business Institute will present a comprehensive business workshop for artists and craftspeople on January 16-17, 2016 in Washington, DC. This event will provide essential information in a highly focused program, as well as optional personal consultations for participants.

Artists who would like to enter the national marketplace for handmade goods will learn how to build a collection, price profitably at wholesale, market and sell their work. Fine artists are also perfect candidates for the workshop, as information will be presented on pricing artwork, marketing, selling online and offline, and entering the corporate art market.

Topics to be covered in this two-day workshop are:

  • Wholesale 101
  • Creative Marketing
  • Selling your Work Online
  • Copyright Protection
  • Create an Effective Art Website
  • Pricing for Profit/Pricing Fine Art
  • Art and the Corporate World
  • Sales Strategies

The Arts Business Institute will present a panel of working artists in a Q&A session, which is always a popular part of the event. A tour of the trade show floor will give students the experience of a top wholesale event, meeting exhibitors and retail buyers who attend to purchase goods for their stores and galleries.

Each workshop participant is invited to bring samples of their work for the Critique. Gallery owners and buyers, and ABI faculty will provide written feedback on work quality, presentation, price points and potential markets.

Additionally, personalized business consultations with ABI founder Wendy Rosen and Executive Director Carolyn Edlund will be available. Appointment times are very limited, and must be pre-scheduled.

Regular tuition for the two-day workshop is $250. Save $50 now on early bird registration – deadline is Friday, November 20th.
