Handmade Jewelry Competition Announced

The Arts Business is pleased to be a sponsor of Jewelspan’s “Cool Jewel” competition. Enter now for a fabulous opportunity for publicity, awards and sales!




Jewelspan is the internet’s only provider of websites specifically created for handmade jewelry. They offer an opportunity to jewelry artists worldwide through their “Cool Jewel” contest, which is accepting submissions through July 15th.

2013 was the first year for this annual competition. Take a look at last year’s winners here.


Agniezka Maksymiuk

UK-based artist Agniezka Maksymiuk was the grand prize winner in the 2013 Jewelspan competition.


“We are so excited about our second competition. It is a great way for jewelers worldwide to garner exposure,” say Regan Caton of Jewelspan, “Jewelers worldwide can win cash and prizes. Furthermore, Jewelspan buys the winning piece and features it in a separate giveaway!”

Artists who are already Jewelspan members can enter their work for free. There is a $20 entry fee for non-members (1-3 pieces per entry, up to 3 views per entry.) Criteria for selecting winners is based on unique craftsmanship of wearable jewelry. Choose your best pieces to really “Wow” the judges for a chance to win fantastic prizes.


Carmen Smith Necklace

Carmen Smith’s necklace “Square Squares Everywhere” was a 2013 honorable mention winner.


The competition will recognize one winner as well as a runner-up and one honorable mention. Prizes are valued at over $1,500 total. Unique to Jewelspan’s competitions and garnering more exposure for the winning jeweler, Jewelspan will purchase the winning ‘Cool Jewel’, and give it away in a separate Facebook contest to one lucky Jewelspan shopper.

Part of the winner’s package for first place will be a free copy of The Arts Business Institute’s popular e-course  “Marketing for Artists & Craftspeople.”
