As a nonprofit organization, The Arts Business is dedicated to providing practical business skills for working artists, with workshops designed to provide each individual artist with a step-by-step plan for success.
Our upcoming Workshop in Philadelphia takes place on the weekend of Febuary 18-19, 2012. It includes lectures on Wholesaling Basics, Marketing, Salesmanship, Pricing, Using Social Media and other essential topics for artists – but we also offer two unique experiences at this workshop only.
- First, a tour of the show floor immerses participants in the flow and excitement of the trade show atmosphere. This is an opportunity to get up close and personal, see the booths, displays and commerce in process.
- Second, a Meet the Galleries event takes place on Day 2 of the Workshop. Participants bring samples of their own work to be displayed in a separate section of the show during designated hours. Real gallery owners and buyers will examine their product line and give written evaluations and suggestions on how participants can successfully launch their emerging businesses and lines into the marketplace.
Reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Artists planning to make wholesaling an integral part of their business model are seeking out personalized input and mentoring on their lines. In this way, ABI provides artists with specific business tools unique to their creative careers.
